Seed Profit & ROI Calculator

Seed presets load a current reference buy price and base crop value. Every field remains editable so you can use a newer patch price or a crop/event currency not included in the list.

Crop value: Base × max(1, Weight Ratio²) × Growth × [1 + Σ(Mutation−1)] × Friend Boost
ROI: (Total Revenue − Seed Investment) ÷ Seed Investment × 100
1 = base weight, 1.5 = 50% heavier, 2 = double base weight.
Use 1 for a single-harvest assumption. Increase for repeat-harvest crops.

Environmental Mutations

Select only mutations actually on the fruit. These stack additively inside the mutation bracket.

Grow a Garden Seed Price & Base ROI Reference

The table uses a September 2026 Seed Shop reference snapshot. Base ROI compares one plain base-value fruit against one seed purchase; it does not include repeat harvests, mutations or heavier fruit.

How Seed ROI Is Calculated

Seed Investment

Investment is simply seed price × number of plants purchased. For multi-harvest plants, that seed purchase is counted once while later harvests add more revenue.

Weight Changes Value Quickly

Grow a Garden’s crop model squares the weight ratio. A fruit at 2× its base weight is worth 4× the plain base value before growth variants, mutations and friend boost.

Mutations Add, Growth Multiplies

Environmental mutations use 1 + Σ(multiplier − 1). Silver, Gold and Rainbow are exclusive growth variants and multiply the entire crop result by 5×, 20× or 50×.

Repeat Harvests Change the Answer

A seed that looks unprofitable from one plain fruit can become profitable after several harvest cycles. That is why this calculator separates fruits per harvest from harvest cycles per seed.

Popular Seed ROI Examples

Carrot

The current seed-price reference lists Carrot at 10 Sheckles with a plain base crop value of 18. One base fruit therefore returns 1.8× the seed cost before any mutation or weight bonus.

Daffodil

Daffodil is listed at a 1,000 Sheckle seed cost and about 5,000 base crop value, giving a strong 5× one-fruit revenue/cost ratio in the current reference snapshot.

Mushroom

Mushroom is listed at 150,000 Sheckles with a base crop value around 136,278. Plain one-fruit return is slightly below seed cost, but heavy or mutated Mushrooms scale rapidly because of the squared weight term.

Beanstalk

Beanstalk’s 10M reference seed cost is far above one plain base fruit. Its economics therefore depend much more on repeat harvesting, weight and mutation outcomes than on the one-fruit base ratio.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does ROI mean in Grow a Garden?

ROI means return on investment. This calculator uses (revenue − seed cost) ÷ seed cost × 100. A positive ROI means your modeled harvest revenue is above the seed investment.

What is the difference between ROI % and revenue/cost ratio?

If a 10-Sheckle seed returns 18 Sheckles, revenue/cost is 1.8× while net ROI is 80%. The ratio includes the original investment; ROI % measures profit relative to that investment.

How does crop weight affect seed profit?

Value scales by the square of the weight ratio. At 1.5× base weight the weight multiplier is 2.25×; at 2× base weight it is 4×.

Do crop mutations multiply each other?

Environmental mutations are added inside the stack rather than multiplied directly. For example Wet 2× plus Shocked 100× gives a 101× environmental bracket, not 200×.

Why doesn’t the calculator assume a harvest count for every crop?

Yield and repeat-harvest behavior can be patch-sensitive and player setups differ. The calculator keeps fruits per harvest and harvest cycles editable instead of hiding a stale assumption.

Can I use event seeds or another currency?

Yes. Choose Custom and enter the seed cost and crop value yourself. Keep the cost and revenue in the same currency if you want the ROI percentage to be meaningful.

What is break-even harvest cycles?

It is the number of modeled harvest cycles needed for revenue from one plant to equal or exceed the seed’s purchase cost, assuming the same fruit value and fruits-per-harvest each cycle.

Is this calculator official?

No. Grow a Garden Pro Calculator is an independent fan-made utility and is not affiliated with Roblox or the Grow a Garden developers.
