Calculate Pet Mutation Machine odds, attempts, Sheckle cost and machine time for Standard Age-50 mutations, the newer Level-500 mutation pool, or any custom current-patch probability.

Every roll is modeled as independent. A cumulative probability is not a guarantee, and this tool does not assume a pity system unless the game explicitly adds one.
P(at least one hit) = 1 − (1 − p)^n

Standard Pet Mutation Machine Odds
The standard Mutation Machine requires an Age-50+ pet, costs 500,000,000 Sheckles per use and takes 60 minutes under the community-documented system. The pet’s age resets to 1 after mutation.
| Mutation | Chance | Community Effect Summary |
|---|---|---|
| Shiny | 32.15% | Pet XP boost |
| Inverted | 16.08% | Stronger pet XP boost |
| Windy | 9.65% | Can apply Windstruck to crops |
| Frozen | 9.65% | Can apply Frozen to crops |
| Golden | 6.43% | Passive boost |
| Tiny | 6.43% | Size/hunger/XP effect |
| Mega | 6.43% | Size/hunger/XP effect |
| IronSkin | 3.22% | Fruit-protection utility in legacy/current community tables |
| Radiant | 3.22% | Plant-growth utility |
| Shocked | 3.22% | Thunderstorm crop-mutation utility |
| Rainbow | 3.22% | Large passive boost |
| Ascended | 0.32% | Rare Dawnbound crop-mutation ability |
Level 500 Pet Mutation Machine Odds
The June 20, 2026 update officially added four new mutation outcomes for pets that reach Level 500. Current community data identifies the four outcomes and their probability split as follows.
| Mutation | Chance | Community Effect Summary |
|---|---|---|
| Exalted | 50% | Passive boost plus XP support for other pets |
| Iridescent | 35% | Large size boost; periodically turns a fruit Rainbow |
| Gigantic | 12.5% | Huge size boost plus temporary passive boosts to other pets |
| Transcendent | 2.5% | Large passive boost; periodically increases another pet’s age |
How Pet Mutation Probability Works
One Roll vs Many Rolls
A 0.32% Ascended chance does not become 3.2% simply because you roll ten times. The correct cumulative
calculation is 1 − (1 − 0.0032)^10, or about 3.15%.
Expected Attempts Are Not Guaranteed
With a 0.32% chance, the average geometric waiting time is about 312.5 attempts. You can still hit on the first roll or miss far beyond the average.
Cost Can Become Very Large
At a 500M Sheckle standard-machine cost, rare-mutation chasing becomes expensive quickly. The calculator shows both your planned spend and the probability threshold costs before you start.
Machine Time Is Separate From Leveling Time
This page calculates machine processing time only. Re-leveling a pet after its age resets is a separate cost; use the Pet XP Calculator to estimate that grind.
Frequently Asked Questions
What age does a pet need for the standard Mutation Machine?
The standard machine accepts pets at Age 50 or higher under the current community-documented mechanic.
How much does the standard Mutation Machine cost?
Current community references list 500,000,000 Sheckles per standard attempt and a 60-minute processing time.
What is the chance of Ascended?
The standard machine’s community-reported Ascended probability is 0.32% per independent roll.
How many attempts guarantee Ascended?
No finite number guarantees an independent random hit without a documented pity system. You can calculate attempts for 50%, 75%, 90%, 95% or 99% cumulative probability instead.
What are the Level 500 Mutation Machine outcomes?
Current community data lists Exalted at 50%, Iridescent at 35%, Gigantic at 12.5% and Transcendent at 2.5%.
Does mutating a pet replace its existing mutation?
Normally yes: rerolling through the standard mutation system overwrites the existing standard mutation. Community references note special exceptions such as natural Rainbow variants from certain eggs/chests.
Does the pet age reset after mutation?
The standard Mutation Machine resets the pet’s age to 1. Community player reports also indicate Level-500 mutation-machine use resets age, but always verify the current in-game prompt before committing a valuable pet.
Is Inferno part of these random Machine odds?
No. Inferno was introduced through the Campfire Ritual: a pet plus four Inferno Shards at the Ritual Altar, rather than the same random standard-machine probability pool.
